ABOUT PRAIRIE ELEMENTS
Prairie Elements is the professional and personal website of Richard St-Pierre, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. Prairie Elements includes a compendium of information on the biology and culture of Canadian native fruit species. The book Growing Saskatoons - A Manual For Orchardists is located on this website.
Prairie Elements was hand-crafted by Richard St-Pierre using a simple text editor (EditPad Lite) and Adobe Photoshop Elements 9. All HTML and CSS coding has been validated by W3C. All pages on the site have been tested on the latest versions of Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, Opera, and Safari (both Mac & PC). The image galleries are modified versions of javascript coding available from Highslide JS.

WHAT'S NEW?
19th February 2011 - nativefruit.ca has been set up as a mirror of Prairie Elements; the native fruit information on Prairie Elements will be phased out over the next year or so and nativefruit.ca will become the replacement source for information on the biology and culture of some of our native fruit species.
18th February 2011 - a new article - Biology & Culture Of The Chokecherry, Prunus virginiana has been added to the native fruit pages.
16th February 2011 - two factsheets in Growing Saskatoons - A Manual For Orchardists - Fungicide Guidelines for Saskatoon Orchards, and Insecticide Guidelines for Saskatoon Orchards have been updated to include the latest registrations.
5th January 2011 - a new page - Botanical & Horticultural Services, has been added.
4th January 2011 - a new article - Biology and Culture of the Buffaloberry, Shepherdia argentea has been added to the native fruit pages.
